Day 1 - Arrival Lima

On arrival to Lima, we wait for you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores. For customers arriving in the late evening we offer the option of the four star Costa del Sol Hotel which is directly connected to the airport by footbridge. If you opt for the airport hotel make your own way over to the Costa del Sol Hotel and check in. You will find that the hotel is just a short walk from the airport arrival lounge. Please collect your Chaska Tours holiday hotel vouchers at the reception desk of the Hotel.

Day 2 - Lima to Cusco

Walk back to the airport for your flight from Lima to Cusco. On arrival to Cusco we will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
After your check in you will have the day to relax and to adjust to the altitude.

Day 3 -  Cusco  City Tour 

Morning free.
In the afternoon your guide will come to your hotel for your private guided city tour, including two archeological sites. We visit the impressive Qoricancha temple and then take a short walk through the typical streets of Cusco visiting the Cathedral in the main square and then the famous 12 angle Inca stone. Our car will take us to the megalithic site of Sacsayhuaman and then Qenko. Finishing back at your hotel.  You have the rest of the evening free.

Day 4 - Sacred Valley


This morning we start from your hotel for our day excursion to the Sacred Valley Of the Incas. We visit the colorful indigenous and handicraft market of Pisac and the ruins high up on the mountain overlooking the valley. At Pisac we can enjoy a small typical Andean market and it offers good opportunities to buy local handicraft. We continue to Urubamba where a buffet lunch is served, then we continue to Ollantaytambo. The town has been built on top of original Inca foundations and is the best surviving example of Inca town planning. The town is located at the bottom of spectacular Inca ruins, which protected the strategic entrance to the lower Urubamba Valley. At the end of our tour we check-in to our hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 5 - Machu Picchu


Morning transfer to the train station to board the train for the scenic journey to Aquas Calientes. On arrival to Aguas Calientes the hotel staff will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.  Your guide will be waiting at your hotel and after dropping off your luggage you will take the bus up to Machu Picchu Sanctuary where you will enjoy a three hour guided tour of the sanctuary. After your tour you have free time to explore the site on your own. 
After your tour you will have plenty of time to look around maybe do some of the other treks which are available in the surrounding mountains. After lunch it will be time to board the afternoon return train to Poroy town and then a transfer back to Cusco.

Day 6  - Cusco to The Amazon
 rainforest.

Today we head to the Amazon rainforest. Transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado.
We will be waiting for your arrival in Puerto Maldonado to start your Amazon tour, we check-in at the Butterfly house & lounge.Then we will travel to our lodgings by motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River. (approximately 25-minutes).On our arrival it will be time for a buffet lunch with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch we take a nature trail walk where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate on a canoe in a twighlight excursion. Boating on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystems, Amazon creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior and the southern constellations. Return to the main building for dinner.

Day 7 - The Amazon - Sandoval Lake


After breakfast we have a long trek through terra firma in the Tambopata National Reserve to Sandoval Lake. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of the world;  we learn about the reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation. We travel across the oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, the blue and yellow macaw, the red howler monkey and the black caiman. We head back to the lodge for lunch for the canopy walkway and anaconda walk. We ascend one of the two 98 ft (30 m) towers and cross the seven hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 90 ft (28 m) high. Here we have breathtaking views and we can observe toucans, woodpeckers, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth. Then we walk along the 200-meter wooden bridge over some swamps to learn about the fauna and flora of these flooded ecosystems. Return to the lodge and enjoy a nice dinner.

Day 8: Amazon rainforest - Clay Lick of the Parrots 

After breakfast, we will go on a rowing canoe expedition across a small mysterious river where we will have the chance of fishing, and if we get lucky,we will appreciate the huge Blue Morph Butterfly, and a variety of tropical birds. We will return to the lodge for lunch; after a time to rest, we will depart on a canoe with an outboard motor to visit what once was a hospital in the middle of the forest. During the dry season we can walk in the forest in search of the Lost Boat, the amazing presence of an old steamer in the midst of the Amazonian jungle. Before returning to the lodge we make a stop at a chacra (a small farming field) where we will have the chance to taste some tropical fruits from the zone.

Day 9: Flight from Puerto Maldonado

After breakfast we will return to the city, where we will visit the fruit market of Puerto Maldonado if time permits. Transfer to the airport for your departure. Flight Puerto Maldonado/Lima or Cusco.

    Encantada

    Hotel Encantada is far from the noisy streets, but still located in the centre and close to the Sacsayhuaman ruins. The Encantada Boutique Hotel is a marvellous place located in the higher part of Cusco's city centre.

    All 15 rooms are divided among three floors in this modern styled hotel; on the upper floor there is a rooftop terracce and a spa.
