We visit some of the Islands of lake Titicaca with communities that have successfully welcomed tourism in a way that complements and preserves their lifestyle and traditions. We start our tour in Cusco, home to a unique blend of precision Inca stonework with charming colonial churches and neighbournoods. We visit the megalithic ruins surrounding Cusco and throughout the Sacred Valley. We take the famous and picturesque Vista-dome train to the highlands of Machu Picchu Sanctuary and wake up early to catch the magnificent sunrise over the long-lost city of Machu Picchu. We then head to the beautiful blue waters of Lake Titicaca with a choice of overland tour coach or luxury train. We are welcomed by the communities on the floating island of Uros inhabited by traditional fisherman and then Taquile where the local people are experts in traditional weaving techniques.

Day 1 - Arrival Lima

On arrival to Lima, we wait for you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores. For customers arriving in the late evening we offer the option of the four stars Costa del Sol Hotel which is directly connected to the airport by footbridge. If you opt for the airport hotel make your own way over to the Costa del Sol Hotel and check in. You will find that the hotel is just a short walk from the airport arrival lounge. Please pick up your Chaska Tours holiday hotel vouchers at the reception desk of the Hotel.

Day 2 Lima To Cusco 

Walk back to the airport (or transfer to the airport) for your flight from Lima to Cusco. On arrival to Cusco we will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
After your check in you will have the day to relax and to adjust to the altitude.

Day 3 - Cusco City tour

Free morning to relax and explore on your own. In the afternoon your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a Half Day city tour. First we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and continuously the temple of Qoricancha, also known as the temple of the Sun. After these visits, we will continue to the upper part of Cusco to visit several archaeological sites. The first stop will be at Sacsayhuaman, a ceremonial complex of the Incas. We will also visit Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. At the end, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 4 - Sacred Valley

This morning we start our day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We visit the colorful indigenous and handicraft market of Pisac and the ruins high up on the mountain overlooking the valley. At Pisac we can enjoy a small typical Andean market and it offers good opportunities to buy local handicraft. We continue to Urubamba where a buffet lunch is served, then we continue to Ollantaytambo. The town has been built on top of original Inca foundations and is the best surviving example of Inca town planning. The town is located at the bottom of spectacular Inca ruins, which protected the strategic entrance to the lower Urubamba Valley. At the end of our tour we check-in to our hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 5 - Machu Picchu

Morning transfer to the train station to board the train for the scenic journey to Aquas Calientes. On arrival to Aguas Calientes the hotel staff will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.  Your guide will be waiting at your hotel and after dropping off your luggage you will take the bus up to Machu Picchu Sanctuary where you will enjoy a three hour private guided tour of the sanctuary. After the tour you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you can find many restaurant options for lunch.
After lunch it will be time to board the afternoon return train through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo or Poroy town and then a transfer back to Cusco.

Day 6 Tourist bus from Cusco to Pubo

Transfer to the bus station for your Tourist bus ride to Puno, en route you will visit four archaeological sites.
 Places you will visit are: -Andahuaylillas chapel, knon as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas" because of its fabulous decaoration. -Raqchi, the temple of the God Wiracocha
. -La Raya: The highest point between Cusco and Puno, located at 14, 234 feet, where you can enjoy the views of the snow capped mountains. -Pukara: The litho-sculptures of Pukara, belonging to a civilization of the name Pukara. Lunch is served at a local restaurant halfway in Sicuani town. Upon arrival to Puno, our representative will meet you and take you to your hotel.

Optional: Andean Explorer train to Puno
Travel in style on the Andean Explorer from Cusco to the shores of Titicaca Lake where Puno is located. 
Morning transfer to the local train station of Cusco where the Andean Explorer is waiting for your spectacular rail journey to Puno. The glass-walled observation coaches provide the perfect opportunity to view the beautiful scenery. The journey is broken by a scenic stop at La Raya, which is also the highest point on the route.
 First class lunch is served aboard the train in style.
 A music and fashion show and  a bar-tending lesson will also be part of your experience aboard.
On arrival in Puno we take you to your hotel.

Day 7 Titicaca Lake and flight to Lima

Pick-up at 7:00 am. Today we will leave for the port where a boat awaits you to visit the highest navigable lake in the world (3800 meters / 12467.19 feet). We will explore the floating island of the Uros inhabited by traditional fisherman. We continue the tour for the island of Taquile where the local people are experts in traditional weaving techniques. Return to Puno and transfer to your hotel. to pick up your luggage and transfer to Juliaca airport.
Flight Juliaca/Lima. 
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 8: Departure Lima

After breakfast transfer to the airport of Lima for your international flight

    Hotel Encantada is far from the noisy streets, but still located in the centre and close to the Sacsayhuaman ruins. The Encantada Boutique Hotel is a marvellous place located in the higher part of Cusco's city centre.

    All 15 rooms are divided among three floors in this modern styled hotel; on the upper floor there is a rooftop terracce and a spa.
