Lima was founded on January 18, 1535 by the conqueror Francisco Pizarro and was considered, for almost three centuries, as the Vice-Royal Capital of South America. This fantastic city is nowadays an immeasurable mix of cultures, ethnicities, races and bloods. A festival of colors and customs, an immense wealth of folklore and Creole, between the ancient and the modern.

Lima is one of the world’s best food city. Known for a great number of restaurants that top the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the city has been considered Latin America‘s Gastronomic Capital.

This morning we wil pick you up from your hotel for Your Lima City Tour.

This tour offers you the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary.

We first visit Lima’s Historical Center, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, and a Cultural Patrimony in 1991.
We will visit the colonial sites of the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archibishop’s Palace. Right after we visit the San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs. We continue to modern section and visit the suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores. On our way we will pass by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid shaped temple.

We will visit Barranco the Bohemian suburb and stroll through its central park, the traditional bridge of Sighs, and some art galleries. Then we will enjoy a delicious lunch in one of Lima’s finest restaurants (not included).

Finishing lunch we continue to the Larco Herrera Museum, which showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview of 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. It features the finest gold and silver collection from the Ancient Peru and the famous erotic archaeological collection, one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions.

You will high up in the Peruvian Andes to Cusco, once the capital of the Incas Empire where you will learn more about the Andean culture as the city itself represents the center of indigenous Quechua culture.

On your arrival in Cusco, our representative will be waiting for you with to take you to the Sacred Valley for a better acclimatization as it is located in a lower altitude. En route you will stop at Awanacancha center, a place where you will enjoy time to learn about the traditional techniques of weaving and dying the natural fibers that local people obtain from the south american camelids. You will also have a chance to feed and see the different camelids like llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. Then we continue to your hotel in the Sacred Valley while admiring the beautiful mountainous region.

This will be a full day tour where you will enjoy the varied landscapes of the beautiful Río Urubamba Valley, known as “Valle Sagrado de los Incas”, along the way we can see attractive colonial towns and isolated villages of indigenous communities that continue their tradition for weaving, pottery and agriculture. Main attractions will be the handicraft markets and the lofty Inca citadels of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, it is definitely the perfect match between a cultural experience, the andean sunlight and delicious typical food.

We will visit first the famous Pisac Colorful Indian market to see the handicrafts and taste delicious empanadas baked in huge typical ovens. Afterwards, continue to the Pisac ruins above the town for a visit of the Sun Temple and admire the many surrounding terraces. Then we will drive to Urubamba enjoying picturesque views of the Sacred Valley.

From there we will go to the Huayoccarri Hacienda, an estate founded in the 17th Century, and belongs to the Lámbarri Orihuela family. It has an admirable collection of Peruvian art, housed in different rooms according to era: pre-Incan, Incan, Viceregal and Republican. We will enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch with fresh ingredients.

After a wonderful day you will return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the night.

After breakfast your guide will meet you in your hotel to start your journey. Drive along the Sacred Valley taking in gorgeous vistas of the surrounding mountains and Vilcanota River. We arrive in Chinchero town where we will watch a weaving demonstration using ancient techniques, in a local’s home using natural dyes made of plants, flowers and insects.
Then visit the small chapel before continuing to the Moray agricultural circles sitting on a high plateau. It is believed that the Incas used this location to test plants at different temperatures.

Thereafter, drive down a dirt road to the town of Maras and continue to the salt mines where the salt evaporates from a side of a mountain and fills the pans. The families still gather the salt by hand without using machinery.

Enjoy a delicious Peruvian buffet lunch in the Wayra Restaurant while watching a Peruvian Paso horseshow. After a wonderful time we will continue to Huilloq Indigenous Community in the high lands of Ollantaytambo.
The indigenous Community of Huilloq are the direct native communities’ descendants of the Inka lineage, who preserve the culture, tradition and local ways of life for more than five hundred years.

The community is home for more than a hundred artisan women that are willing to share their ancient knowledge about textile art, through this activity they help to support their families economically as their husbands mainly work in agriculture and as porters in the Inca Trail.

You will learn the millenarian techniques they have used over the centuries where they will teach all the weaving process showing you how to hear the sheep’s wool, wash the wool, how to use the “puska” or spin (preparation of the wool) and handling the spindle, the process of dyeing fibers with natural plants and minerals, how to twist the threads that are essential for the process, handling of the loom’s tools and preparation of the looms and their variations, according to combinations of icons and patterns.

We will return to your hotel in the sacred valley for a well-deserved rest

This morning you will ride on the train from Ollantaytambo with breathtaking views to Machu Picchu town. You will check into your hotel and then take the bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

In your way up to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu you will have spectacular views from the Mountains and the typical flora and fauna of the mysterious Cloud Forest. We will have lunch in Sanctuary Lodge Restaurant located in the entrance of the Citadel, enjoying the atmosphere of this magical place and then have a quiet guided tour after noon, with less crowds and the chance to see the amazing sunrise.

With your Official guide you will visit the enigmatic Citadel of Machu Picchu following a specific route where you will walk through the different sectors such as the Urban and Ceremonial and other places of interest. You will also have time for taking memorable pictures. We are sure that this will be a unique experience!

The Citadel of Machu Picchu was declared by UNESCO a world heritage in 1983. It is believed to have been built in the 15th century and abandoned by the Inca Empire when the Spaniards conquered them. The locals always knew about the ruins and some locals lived around it. The ruins were brought to the world’s attention in 1911. Visit the Sun Temple, the Room of the Three Windows, the Royalty sector and more.

Note: New regulations have been stablished for the visit to Machu Picchu since 2019, according to these statements there are certain schedules for the visit, with the Machu Picchu ticket you can stay 4 hours as maximum in the Citadel. Please notice that Machu Picchu is open from 6:00 am to 5:30pm. aumentar

Your guide will meet you early in the morning for your second day visit to the mysterious Machu Picchu.

Otherwise, based on your choice you could climb the Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu Mountain Peak. This short trek inside the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu will make your day spectacular! You will hike up through Inca’s original paths that will lead you towards magical places within the Cloud Forest. With every step you will get fascinated by the beautiful views of the famous Andean Mountains. You can have a taste of the real Inca Trail doing this trek and appreciate the architectonic magnificence of the Incas. You have to see it with your own eyes!

Please make sure you check out of your hotel before you leave for the Sanctuary and to pick up your luggage and to be at the train station half an hour before your train’s departure.

Then return to town and enjoy Peruvian cuisine in one of the best Restaurants in Aguas Calientes. After lunch relax and then board your train to Cusco*. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Note: Tickets are subject to availability. There are schedules for the visit to one of the Mountains, with the Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu tickets you can stay inside the Park for 6 hours and with the Machu Picchu + Machu Picchu Mountain Peak ticket for 7 hours maximum. The visit for one of the mountains has a moderate grading that requires a good physical condition although effort is well worth it. The Huayna Picchu hike is easier and takes less time than Machu Picchu Mountain Peak.

This morning journey through the Inca city walking on the cobble stone streets passing narrow streets and local stores.

We will walk to the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, and then on to Qoricancha the Inca Sun Temple. Then we will visit the vibrant San Pedro Market where the locals shop for Andean grains, fruits, natural medicine plants and more. Afterwards, drive up above Cusco for a visit of the spectacular Sacsayhuaman complex with stupendous stonework, Qenko a place of rituals and the Temple of the Moon; a mysterious site with two caves which contain alters and carvings of serpents and more.

We will continue to the house of Sulca to see the lovely textiles made by hand. After a glorious time we will return to the city to enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch on your own expenses. After lunch you will have the rest of the day at leisure.

Today enjoy a free day in Cusco visiting museums or simply walking down the picturesque streets around the City center. You can get to know the typical neighborhoods of San Cristobal and San Blas where Artisans congregate their shops and galleries, the cheerful and energy of this walk will make you feel the real essence of the City.

It will be a great chance to do shopping as Cusco is well known for its world-famous Alpaca wood clothing not only for their quality but for their design, also you will find Silver and gold shops for fine jewelry and a great offer for handicrafts.

At the end of the afternoon, we recommend you to make a stop to drink a refreshing and delicious Pisco Sour, Peru’s National cocktail. All around Cusco’s city center you will find numerous Bars, Cafes and Restaurants to have a taste of the Peruvian cuisine within a nice atmosphere.

We recommend early morning rising since wildlife is most abundant and active while the sun is rising. We will walk deep into the green jungle where your guide will point out the lively wildlife and serene vegetation of the Amazon. Be ready to spot many surprises!
In the afternoon, we will cruise Yanayacu Pucate Rivers with breathtaking vistas of the lagoons and creeks. You will be in one of the most preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will show you the precious biodiversity of this region. Then take pleasure in a stand up paddle board to soak in the waters. Take a dip and swim in this refreshing river in the jungle with the lovable pink dolphins.

Morning rise and off to another adventure traveling to visit a private fishing reserve. We will walk through primary forest and paddle slowly through tranquil Tahuampa Lake, a black water lagoon with giant arapaima fishes (known locally as paiche). Be in awe with an early morning symphony of sounds that will enamor you. We will go to a network of suspension bridges hanging high up in the treetops where you can explore the canopy at your leisure.
In the afternoon we either visit Jacinto Lake or Nauta Caño Creek to do some skill skiff exploration, kayaking, piranha fishing & night safari.

This morning after a delicious breakfast we will visit the San Francisco community to visit the villagers and the incredible market of arts and crafts.
Enjoy a fabulous lunch before disembarking and visiting the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (ACOBIA) to learn about manatees and other threatened species en route to Iquitos airport for your flight to Lima. Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to Miraflores.
