Introduction of Andes, Amazon and northern Beaches
Our journey starts with a visit of the vibrant Capital of Peru, we explore the Catacombs at the San Francisco Convent and visit the colonial center of Lima, a Unesco world heritage. We then travel to the Amazon rainforest and stay at one of our Amazon adventure jungle lodges. Your stay includes a variety of water and land-based adventures introducing you to the huge variety of fauna and flora found at the Tambopata reserve. From here we head up to the Andes. Once the heart of the great Incas Empire, Cusco has a fascinating and unique fusion of colonial and Inca architecture. We then travel through the Sacred Valley, ringed by snowcapped peaks and studded with Inca temples and continue towards the lost city of Machu Picchu which was hidden from the world for five centuries. From there you head to the tropical beaches of Mancora and Vichayito for a few relaxing days at the sea or get active and go surfing or opt for other activities.

On this day you will get to know the historic city of Lima, which was founded on January 18, 1535 by the conqueror Francisco Pizarro and was considered, for almost three centuries, as the Vice-Royal Capital of South America. This fantastic city is nowadays an immeasurable mix of cultures, ethnicities, races and bloods. A festival of colors and customs, an immense wealth of folklore and Creole, between the ancient and the modern.
Today we will visit Lima’s Historical Center, which was declared a World Heritage by Unesco in 1988, and a Cultural Patrimony in 1991. We will visit the colonial sites of the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archibishop’s Palace. Then visit the San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs.
We continue to modern section and visit the suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores. On our way we will pass by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid shaped temple. We visit the Parque del Amor (Lovers Park) and enjoy refreshing views of the Pacific Ocean as we drive down to the Miraflores Malecon, a road overlooking the ocean. Then return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Introduction Amazon
Some lodges are located along the Madre de Dios and the Tambopata River. The lodges seek to cater to the nature loving enthusiast that come to the Madre de Dios region in search of a unique immersion with the Amazon jungle. These locations are built with the highest level of respect to the local biodiversity. The lodges offer bungalows built with palm materials from the surroundings, the rooms are secured by mosquito nets covering all windows, ceilings and beds and hot water.
They offer different excursions on their programs to enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna.
Transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. We will be waiting for your arrival in Puerto Maldonado for the start of your Amazon tour and we check-in at the Butterfly house & lounge. We then travel to our Overnights by motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to the lodge (approximately 25-minute). We then take a lunch with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch we take a nature trail walk where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate on a canoe in a twilight excursion. Boating on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystems, Amazon creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior and the southern constellations. Back to the main building for dinner.

New experiences are ahead and after taking a nutritious buffet Breakfast, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Here you will learn why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru, while learning about the Reserve’s con- servation efforts and the lake’s formation. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), and one of the world’s biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche (Arapaima gigas). Back to the lodge for lunch, and later on the Canopy Walkway & Anaconda Walk awaits for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to the Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of the lodge. Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans (Ramphastos tucanus), woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys (Saimiri boliviensis) and the three-toed sloth (Choleopus hoffmani). After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the aguajales swamps. You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem. Return to the lodge and enjoy a nice dinner.
Note: Some lodges located along the Tambopata River do not offer this excursion because of the long distance, but instead they program excursions to other equally beautiful lakes.

After breakfast we have the ‘Cocha’ excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the Hacienda Concepción Cocha. Try native fishing applying the “catch and release” techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins (Opisthocomus hoazin), a diversity of fly catchers, and gray-necked woodrails (Aramides cajanea). Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steam boat, learn about its history and how it inspired Inkaterra to ask Werner Herzog to film the award-winning “Fitzcarraldo”, best director at Cannes, 1982. Getting back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon prepare yourself for your next excursion at the River Island, known as “Rolin”. Take a ride by outboard motorized canoe and walk through the island. Learn about this flooded ecosystem and vegetation succession while enjoying birdwatching on the trails. Later on explore our Collpa area. Walk 15 to 20 min towards one out of four clay licks in the area. Learn about this mammal inland collpa activity and the difference between collpas according to their location, while looking for footprints and traces of animal activity on the clay lick salted walls, such as the agoutis, monkeys, and peccaries among others. Back to the lodge relax and have a delicious dinner.

After breakfast we take a canoe ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Arrive at the Butterfly house & lounge where you may wait for your flight to Cusco. We fly from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco and on arrival a staff member will be waiting to take you to your hotel in the centre of Cusco. Free time to relax and acclimatize in Cusco or optional excursions.

Cusco was once the capital of the Incas Empire where you will learn more about the Andean culture as the city itself represents the center of indigenous Quechua culture.
Today you will have the morning free to relax and acclimatize.
In the afternoon your guide will meet you to visit the Inca city delegated by UNESCO as a world heritage in 1983.
First we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and continuously the temple of Qoricancha, also known as the temple of the Sun. After these visits, we will continue to the upper part of Cusco to visit several archaeological sites. The first stop will be at Sacsayhuaman, a ceremonial complex of the Incas. We will also visit Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. At the end, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
Note: In private service you will first have a tour by foot through the city, visiting Qoricancha the Inca Sun Temple, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, enjoying the atmosphere of the city by observing the well-preserved colonial architecture that conserves Incas original stone walls, evidence of a rich and complex history. We will continue our way until we get to San Pedro Central Market where the locals shop for Andean grains, fruits, natural medicine plants and more. Afterwards, drive up above Cusco for a visit of the spectacular Sacsayhuaman Inca complex with stupendous stonework, Qenko a place of rituals and then we will visit the house of Sulca to see the lovely textiles made by hand.
Return to your hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Today we will visit different historical and magical places in the Sacred Valley with your private guide. We visit Maras, a little adobe town situated in a beautiful secluded part of the Valley, Moray the magnificent agricultural terraces of Moray, thought to have been an Incan laboratory in order to investigate and improve Andean farming techniques. and then Salineras (salt pans) a stunning & beautiful salt farming system. After lunch we visit the Archeological site of Pisac.
Optional: afternoon Peruvian Paso horse ride around the picturesque valley or ceramic workshop.

This morning you will ride on the train from Ollantaytambo with breathtaking views to Aguas Calientes. You will check into your hotel and then take the bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
In your way up to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu you will have spectacular views from the Mountains and the typical flora and fauna of the mysterious Cloud Forest. It is highly recommended to have lunch in Sanctuary Lodge Restaurant located in the entrance of the Citadel, enjoying the atmosphere of this magical place and then have a quiet guided tour after noon, with less crowds and the chance to see the amazing sunrise.
With your Official guide you will visit the enigmatic Citadel of Machu Picchu following a specific route where you will walk through the different sectors such as the Urban and Ceremonial and other places of interest. You will also have time for taking memorable pictures. We are sure that this will be a unique experience!
The Citadel of Machu Picchu was declared by UNESCO a world heritage in 1983. It is believed to have been built in the 15th century and abandoned by the Inca Empire when the Spaniards conquered them. The locals always knew about the ruins and some locals lived around it. The ruins were brought to the world’s attention in 1911. Visit the Sun Temple, the Room of the Three Windows, the Royalty sector and more.
Note: New regulations have been stablished for the visit to Machu Picchu since 2019, according to these statements there are certain schedules for the visit, with the Machu Picchu ticket you can stay 4 hours as maximum in the Citadel. Please notice that Machu Picchu is open from 6:00 am to 5:30pm.
Today you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own pace.
If you have chosen the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel, you can opt to do one of the various excursions on the hotel grounds which include bird-watching, orchid and nature hikes with specialist guides.
Otherwise, based on your choice you could climb the Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu Mountain Peak. This short trek inside the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu will make your day spectacular! You will hike up through Inca’s original paths that will lead you towards magical places within the Cloud Forest. With every step you will get fascinated by the beautiful views of the famous Andean Mountains. You can have a taste of the real Inca Trail doing this trek and appreciate the architectonic magnificence of the Incas. You have to see it with your own eyes!
Please make sure you check out of your hotel before you leave for the Sanctuary and to pick up your luggage and to be at the train station half an hour before your train’s departure.
Return to Aguas Calientes and enjoy lunch on your own. Then board your train to the Poroy or station. Private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
Note: Tickets are subject to availability. There are schedules for the visit to one of the Mountains, with the Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu tickets you can stay inside the Park for 6 hours and with the Machu Picchu + Machu Picchu Mountain Peak ticket for 7 hours maximum. The visit for one of the mountains has a moderate grading that requires a good physical condition although effort is well worth it. The Huayna Picchu hike is easier and takes less time than Machu Picchu Mountain Peak.

After breakfast transfer to Cusco airport. Flight to Talara via Lima.On arrival in Talara, we will be waiting for you. From the airport you will be transferred to your beautiful hotel right at the beach. The rest of the day is free to relax at the pool of the hotel or to enjoy at the sea.
Mancora is located in Talara Province, Piura Region, in the north of Peru. In summer the sea is bluish-green, while in winter it is turquoise. The coast is surrounded by sandy mountains and, in the east Tumbes Equatorial Dry Forest can be found.
Mancora has warm beaches, sunshine all year, white sand, a spectacular turquoise sea, and unrivaled ambiance.
The collision of Humboldt’s oceanic current with El Niño current have made Mancora’s waters the perfect combination to practice aquatic sports like surfing and kitesurfing. These currents ensure that the northern coast is much warmer than the Peruvian south coast.
Some interesting activities that you can enjoy here are snorkeling, sport fishing, whale watching, horse riding and appreciate the sea wildlife in the beaches nearby. Also, some accommodations, restaurants and new bungalows have been added to the beach where you can enjoy a relaxing massage or swim in the pool right next to the sea.
Contemplating the sunset at the beach where the vast sky turns orange, rose and violet will amaze you!
