This tour is designed for people looking for a well-prepared experience of the ancient four-day Inca trail to Machu Picchu. We also give you the chance to stay at some beautiful hotels. We start our adventure by immersing in the history and legends of Cusco. We visit the charming colonial neighborhoods of Cusco and the colorful Andean villages of the Sacred Valley. We visit awe-inspiring megalithic Inca buildings before starting the famous four-day trail through the lush and tropical mountains to the hidden Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

Arrival in Lima and connecting flight to Cusco. Afternoon City tour of Cusco
Day excursion to the Sacred Valley, visiting Pisac market, the archaeological site of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and its fortress. Overnight in the Sacred Valley
First day of the Inca trail from Km. 82 to Wayllabamba (approximately 6 hrs hike)
Second day of Inca trail, hike from Wayllabamba to Pacaymayu (Approximately 6 hrs and a half hike)
Third day of Inca trail, hike from Pacaymayu to Winay Wayna (approximately 7 hrs hike)

Arrival in Lima. Connecting flight to Cusco. On arrival to Cusco airport we will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel, the rest of the morning will be at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude.
In the afternoon we will pick you up for your City Tour. First, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and continuously the temple of Qoricancha, also known as the temple of the Sun. After these visits, we will continue to the upper part of Cusco to visit several archaeological sites. The first stop will be at Sacsayhuaman, a ceremonial complex of the Incas. We will also visit Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. At the end, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
Note: In private service you will first have a tour by foot through the city, visiting Qoricancha the Inca Sun Temple, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, enjoying the atmosphere of the city by observing the well-preserved colonial architecture that conserves Incas original stone walls, evidence of a rich and complex history. We will continue our way until we get to San Pedro Central Market where the locals shop for Andean grains, fruits, natural medicine plants and more. Afterwards, drive up above Cusco for a visit of the spectacular Sacsayhuaman Inca complex with stupendous stonework, Qenko a place of rituals and then we will visit the house of Sulca to see the lovely textiles made by hand.Return to your hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.
In the evening at a scheduled time our guide will meet you in your hotel for your briefing of the Inca Trail (approximately 45 minutes meeting)
Overnight in Cusco
This will be a full day tour where you will enjoy the varied landscapes of the beautiful Río Urubamba Valley, known as “Valle Sagrado de los Incas”, along the way we can see attractive colonial towns and isolated villages of indigenous communities that continue their tradition for weaving, pottery and agriculture. Main attractions will be the handicraft markets and the lofty Inca citadels of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, it is definitely the perfect match between a cultural experience, the andean sunlight and delicious typical food.
We will visit first the famous Pisac Colorful Indian market to see the handicrafts and taste delicious empanadas baked in huge typical ovens. Afterwards, continue to the Pisac ruins above the town for a visit of the Sun Temple and admire the many surrounding terraces. We will continue to Urubamba to enjoy lunch, then off to one of the original Inca towns of Ollantaytambo to be amazed by the ruins that sit in front of the quaint town. After a wonderful day you will return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the night.

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is considered one of the best trails for trekking in the entire world, and the most well-known of all the Inka Trails, it is a scenic road with the Andean indescribable beauty running along the days of this adventure, exploring enigmatic archaeological sites which can only be reached by foot.
Thanks to the researches we can know that Machu Picchu was connected to the Incas Empire through the Qhapaq Ñan, the Inca road network which was a system of roads that linked the most important points of the immense empire. These paths were built with excellent structure, in harmony with its surroundings and having a great aesthetic in its construction.
Today we will have an early start with a pick up from your hotel in The Sacred Valley for your transfer to the trail head at Km 82 (2,600 mts/ 8,530 feet) on the way to Machu Picchu. Along the road you will be able to observe the spectacular flora and fauna including over 250 types of orchids, 450 species of birds and if you are lucky the spectacled bear.
We will begin our trek by hiking along the left bank of the Vilcanota river, overlooked by the summit of the Veronica mountain (5,900 mts / 19,000 ft.). This day our trek will be liugh

Overnight at campsite
We will trek upward through the native forest to Pacaymayu – the highest campsite of the Inca Trail. This will be one of the most demanding days of the trail as we ascend to the mountain pass of Warmiwanuska (Dead Woman´s Pass at 4,200 mts /13,779.52 ft). At this point we will be rewarded with spectacular views of the peaks of Huayanay to the east, and the rugged Vilcabamba range to the west. Afterward, we will descend to our campsite at Pacaymayu (3,600 mts / 11,811.02 ft).

Today, we will cross a second mountain pass at 4,000m / 13,123.35 ft and follow a finely-paved and well-preserved Inca trail to the restored archaeological site of Sayacmarka. This section of the Inca Trail is paved with white granite and traverses a thickly forested slope. We will camp at Wiñaywayna ( 2650 mts / 8694.22 ft) after a spectacular descent from the cloud forest and high jungle. Wiñaywayna is a beautiful ceremonial site divided into two sectors and fashioned from finely-carved stones fit together withgreat precision.

Orchids and hummingbirds are a common sight along this stretch of the Inca Trail and the Urubamba river is a constant presence far below us. From Wiñaywayna we will continue to Intipunku or The Sun Gate, from where we will see Machupicchu for the first time stretched out below on a rocky outcropping. Overlooking the site we will see the peak known as Huayna Picchu. From this point, we need only to walkl down the final stretch of the royal trail and enter finally to the enigmatic citadel, which laid hidden for centuries before being revealed to the world by chance discovery.

We will have a guided excursion of Machupicchu and afterwards you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you will be able to find many restaurant options for lunch. Free evenign to relax.

Today you will have free time in Machu Picchu.
If you have chosen the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel, you can opt to do one of the various excursions on the hotel grounds which include bird-watching, orchid and nature hikes with specialist guides.
Otherwise, based on your choice you could climb the Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu Mountain Peak. This short trek inside the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu will make your day spectacular! You will hike up through Inca’s original paths that will lead you towards magical places within the Cloud Forest. With every step you will get fascinated by the beautiful views of the famous Andean Mountains. You can have a taste of the real Inca Trail doing this trek and appreciate the architectonic magnificence of the Incas. You have to see it with your own eyes!
Please make sure you check out of your hotel before you leave for the Sanctuary and to pick up your luggage and to be at the train station half an hour before your train’s departure.
Return to Aguas Calientes and enjoy lunch on your own. Then board your train to the Poroy or station. Private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
Note: Tickets are subject to availability. There are schedules for the visit to one of the Mountains, with the Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu tickets you can stay inside the Park for 6 hours and with the Machu Picchu + Machu Picchu Mountain Peak ticket for 7 hours maximum. The visit for one of the mountains has a moderate grading that requires a good physical condition although effort is well worth it. The Huayna Picchu hike is easier and takes less time than Machu Picchu Mountain Peak.

In the morning it’s time to say goodbye to Cusco, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima.
After lunch we will meet you in front of the Marriott hotel for your guided Lima city tour in group service.
We first visit Lima’s Historical Center, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, and a Cultural Patrimony in 1991.
We will visit the colonial sites of the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archibishop’s Palace. Right after we visit the San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs. We continue to modern section and visit the suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores. On our way we will pass by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid shaped temple.
We continue to the Parque del Amor (Lovers Park) and enjoy refreshing views of the Pacific Ocean as we drive down to the Miraflores Malecon, a road overlooking the ocean. At the end of your tour we will take you back to your hotel.
