This is a program that combines Cusco, the Sacred Valley, The Salkantay trail to Machu Picchu and the well known excursion to Titicaca Lake. We start from Cusco, a fascinating city with an exquisite mixture of amazing Inca megalithic stonework and the charming architecture from the colonial period, we visit the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas before starting our hike.
We take the fantastic four day Salkantay trek which will lead us to the lost city of Machu Picchu. We will trek around the base of the high snow-capped Salkantay mountain (6,271 mts / 20574.14 ft). The trail offers an extraordinary variety of ecological regions, from tropical valleys to glacial steppes. We will continue our way to Puno in the south of Peru to visit the Islands on the Titicaca lake.

On arrival to Lima, we wait for you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores. For customers arriving in the late evening we offer the option of the four-star Airport Hotel which is directly connected to the airport by footbridge. If you opt for the airport hotel make your own way over to Airport Hotel and check in. You will find that the hotel is just a short walk from the airport arrival lounge. This morning, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Cusco. You will high up in the Peruvian Andes to Cusco, once the capital of the Incas Empire where you will learn more about the Andean culture as the city itself represents the center of indigenous Quechua culture.

In the afternoon we will pick you up for your City Tour. First, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and continuously the temple of Qoricancha, also known as the temple of the Sun. After these visits, we will continue to the upper part of Cusco to visit several archaeological sites. The first stop will be at Sacsayhuaman, a ceremonial complex of the Incas. We will also visit Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. At the end, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
Note: In private service you will first have a tour by foot through the city, visiting Qoricancha the Inca Sun Temple, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, enjoying the atmosphere of the city by observing the well-preserved colonial architecture that conserves Incas original stone walls, evidence of a rich and complex history. We will continue our way until we get to San Pedro Central Market where the locals shop for Andean grains, fruits, natural medicine plants and more. Afterwards, drive up above Cusco for a visit of the spectacular Sacsayhuaman Inca complex with stupendous stonework, Qenko a place of rituals and then we will visit the house of Sulca to see the lovely textiles made by hand.

This will be a full day tour where you will enjoy the varied landscapes of the beautiful Valle Sagrado de los Incas, along the way we can see attractive colonial towns and isolated villages of indigenous communities that continue their tradition for weaving, pottery and agriculture. Main attractions will be the handicraft markets and the lofty Inca citadels of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, it is definitely the perfect match between a cultural experience, the andean sunlight and delicious typical food.
This morning we will depart from Cusco heading up and over the highlands towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We arrive at Pisac to visit the colourful Pisac village market. Here you can bargain for some of the many artisan goodies on offer. then we will head up to Pisac ruins located high up overlooking the valley. After an hour exploring this magnificent site we head back down and through the valley until we reach the town of Urubamba. Here we will have a buffet lunch before continuing to Ollantaytambo town to visit the ruins, which are located on top of the mountain overlooking the town.
Then we head to Chinchero which is a small Andean village located high up on the windswept plains of Anta at 3762m. There are beautiful views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with the Cordillera Vilcabamba and the snow-capped peak of Salkantay dominating the western horizon. The village mainly comprises mud brick (adobe) houses, and locals still go about their business in traditional dresses. After the visit to Chinchero we return to Cusco.

Day 1 Cusco – Mollepata – Salkantay Pampa
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel, we´ll go by private bus to the village of Mollepata. From the tropical valley of Mollepata with its citrus groves, we’ll go on to Challacancha where we will start our hike for about 3 hours until Soraypampa (3,900 masl/12,795 ft). At the beginning the walk will be relatively flat with a slight uphill through a mountain chain of glaciers, we will appreciate in the trail a Incas water channel that has been restored and used today by the local farmers. We will get to our campsite in Soraypampa where we will have our first lunch and a time to relax. Then we will hike up to the beautiful Humantay Lake (4200 masl/13780ft) and we will appreciate the stunning scenary where the turquoise waters of the lake are contrasted with the imposing Humantay glacier. Then it will be time to return to our campsite to spent to have dinner and our first night camping.

Day 2 Salkantay Pampa – Totora
After an early breakfast, we are ready to start a 4-hour trek and begin our ascent to Salkantay Mountain Pass (4525m /14842ft). We’ll have a magnificent view of the snow-capped surrounding Glaciers, as well as other interesting geological formations. With some luck we can spot condors here. We will start the descent to the village of Huayracmachay where we will have lunch and after a brief, we’ll continue our descent to the village of Chaullay, where we will spend the second night. In our trek we will enjoy the geographical shift between cold, dry area we were in the past days to the most tropical zone, we will also enjoy the change in the flora and fauna and we will see several kinds of birds and orchids.Finally, at our campsite in Chaullay, we will have our dinner and the overnight.

Day 3 Chaullay – Lucmabamba
We will start our walk to La Playa through the Santa Teresa valley. During the walk we will see wild orchids, coffee, tea, banana and avocado plantations. We will pass through a town called Colpapampa, also called the «front cloud forest» where we could see waterfalls, hot springs, fruit trees and birds and a varied flora. After lunch, we will hike for about 1 hour to our base camp called Lucmabamba (2400 MASL – 7874 feet).
We are going to explore the tropical forest for a while and have a lovely visit at an organic coffee farm. Here you can taste the coffee prepared by the local people. Coffee is the main agricultural industry of the local people here in the jungle and they grow many hectares of coffee for export the US, Asia and Europe.

Day 4 Soraypampa- Chaullay

After breakfast your guide will accompany you for an early bus for the sunrise at Machu Picchu. The first buses start leaving at 5.30am and take 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. The doors to Machu Picchu open at 6am.You will have about 4 hours for your visit in the Citadel when you will be able to enjoy this magnificent place before the crowds arrive later in the morning. Our professional guide will slowly show you around the main areas recounting myths and legends passed down over the centuries and explaining about some of the advanced building techniques the Incas used. After the tour will be time to head back down to the town by bus. Here you can find many restaurants offering lunch and afterwards you will board the return train through the Sacred Valley to Poroy town with a transfer back to Cusco arriving at approximately 8.30pm.

Transfer to the bus station for your tourist bus to Puno in which you will visit 4 archeological sites along the way. This will be a very active and interesting 9 hours journey.
This day long bus ride takes you through snow-covered peaks, high and wide Andean valleys where llamas graze on spiky grass. As you pass by villages with cobblestone streets and you will see people making adobe bricks by hand.
On our way to Puno we will visit the litho-sculptures of Pukara, La Raya, the highest point between Cusco and Puno (14234 feet / 3800 meters), Raqchi, the temple of the God Wiracocha and Andahuaylillas. The church of Andahuaylillas is known as the «Sistine Chapel of America». It is known as one of the best- preserved examples of Andean religious art. Arrival in Cusco and transfer to hotel.
Alternative option: Upgrade to Lake Titicaca train to Cusco available at an additional cost. Train operates Puno to Cusco: Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
Travel in style on the Lake Titicaca train to Cusco. Morning transfer to the local train station of Puno where the train operated by Peru Rail is waiting for your spectacular rail journey to Cusco, which runs on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The glass-walled observation coach provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The journey is broken by a scenic stop at La Raya, which is also the highest point on the route. First class lunch is served aboard the train in style. A music and fashion show and a bar-tending lesson will also be part of your experience aboard.

Today we will leave for the port where a boat awaits us to visit one of the highest lakes in the world (3800 meters / 12467.19 feet). We will explore the floating island of Uros inhabited by traditional fisherman, stepping on the island feels very much like a water bed but it is quite safe. We see the houses, the islands and meet its friendly inhabitants. Uros people are descendants of one of the oldest South American groups. Rides on traditional reed boats can be arranged.
After we will continue navigating the highest navigable lake in the world, the Titicaca Lake, for about 2 ½ hours enjoying the spectacular views to get to Taquile Island port, from where we will take a long path that gradually ascend until the indigenous community to know these textile experts and their weaving traditions. You will find handy craft textiles of high quality make by them at a good price. Lunch at one of the many local restaurants.
After this nice experience with the indigenous community, we depart back to Puno City, on arrival we will transfer you to your Puno hotel.

After lunch we will meet you in front of the Marriott hotel for your guided Lima city tour in group service.
We first visit Lima’s Historical Center, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, and a Cultural Patrimony in 1991.
We will visit the colonial sites of the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archibishop’s Palace. Right after we visit the San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs. We continue to modern section and visit the suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores. On our way we will pass by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid shaped temple.
Then we will visit the Parque del Amor (Lovers Park) and enjoy refreshing views of the Pacific Ocean as we drive down to the Miraflores Malecon, a road overlooking the ocean. At the end of the tour you will be dropped back to Marriott Hotel were you have free time until your evening scheduled transfer to return to the airport for your international flight.
