On arrival to Cusco our representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel. After your check in, we will give you a briefing on the upcoming activities and we will provide you with all your travel documents and answer any questions, you may have.
In the afternoon we will pick you up for your City Tour. First, we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas and continuously the temple of Qoricancha, also known as the temple of the Sun. After these visits, we will continue to the upper part of Cusco to visit several archaeological sites. The first stop will be at Sacsayhuaman, a ceremonial complex of the Incas. We will also visit Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. At the end, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
Note: In private service you will first have a tour by foot through the city, visiting Qoricancha the Inca Sun Temple, the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, enjoying the atmosphere of the city by observing the well-preserved colonial architecture that conserves Incas original stone walls, evidence of a rich and complex history. We will continue our way until we get to San Pedro Central Market where the locals shop for Andean grains, fruits, natural medicine plants and more. Afterwards, drive up above Cusco for a visit of the spectacular Sacsayhuaman Inca complex with stupendous stonework, Qenko a place of rituals and then we will visit the house of Sulca to see the lovely textiles made by hand.
In the evening the guide for the trek will come to your hotel for a pre-trek trail briefing.
Overnight in Cusco

This morning we depart from Cusco heading up and over the highlands towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We arrive to Pisac to visit the colourful Pisac village market where you can find a wide variety of handicraft. Then, we head up to Pisac ruins located high up overlooking the valley. After an hour exploring this magnificent site we head down through the valley until we reach the town of Urubamba. Here we take a buffet lunch before continuing to Ollantaytambo town to visit its ruins, which are located on top of the mountain that overlooks the town.Then we head to Chinchero which is a small Andean village located high up on the windswept plains of Anta at 3762m. There are beautiful views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with the Cordillera Vilcabamba and the snow-capped peak of Salkantay dominating the western horizon. The village mainly comprises mud brick (adobe) houses, and locals still go about their business in traditional dresses. Here we will have a weaving demonstration and we will learn about the ancient techniques they use to make their textiles.
Return to Cusco.

Cusco-Mollepata – Salkantaypampa.
After an early breakfast, we are ready to start a 4-hour trek and begin our ascent to Salkantay Mountain Pass (4525m /14842ft). We’ll have a magnificent view of the snow-capped surrounding Glaciers, as well as other interesting geological formations. With some luck we can spot condors here. We will start the descent to the village of Huayracmachay where we will have lunch and after a brief, we’ll continue our descent to the village of Chaullay, where we will spend the second night. In our trek we will enjoy the geographical shift between cold, dry area we were in the past days to the most tropical zone, we will also enjoy the change in the flora and fauna and we will see several kinds of birds and orchids.Finally, at our campsite in Chaullay, we will have our dinner and the overnight.

Salkantaypampa -Collpapampa.
After an early breakfast, we are ready to start a 3-hour trek and begin our ascent to Salkantay Mountain Pass (4525m /14842ft). We’ll have a magnificent view of the snow-capped surrounding Glaciers, as well as other interesting geological formations. With some luck we can spot condors here. After a brief rest, we’ll continue our trek downwards into the cloud forest along the Salkantay river. The climate changes as we descend into a tropical climate and in the late afternoon we will arrive at our campsite in Collcapampa to spend the night.

Collpapampa – Lucmabamba
We will start our walk to La Playa through the Santa Teresa valley. During the walk we will see wild orchids, coffee, tea, banana and avocado plantations. We will pass through a town called Colpapampa, also called the «front cloud forest» where we could see waterfalls, hot springs, fruit trees and birds and a varied flora. After lunch, we will hike for about 1 hour to our base camp called Lucmabamba (2400 MASL – 7874 feet).
We are going to explore the tropical forest for a while and have a lovely visit at an organic coffee farm. Here you can taste the coffee prepared by the local people. Coffee is the main agricultural industry of the local people here in the jungle and they grow many hectares of coffee for export the US, Asia and Europe.

Lucmabamba –Llactapata –Hidroelectrica -Aguas Calientes
On this day we will climb up about 3 hours, through an original Inca Trail till to get to the first archeological site of this trail in this part of the mountain you will see a lot of vegetation, flowers, shrubs, trees of high forest once we reach the archaeological site of Llactapata. We also have the view of Machu Picchu from a different mountain chain. After having a guided tour of Llactapata, we will start to descent for about 2 hours to the Urubamba valley until we reach the Hydroelectric Plant where we will have the last lunch. In the afternoon we take a short train ride to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hostel.

After breakfast your guide will accompany you for an early bus for the sunrise at Machu Picchu. The first buses start leaving at 5.30am and take 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. The doors to Machu Picchu open at 6am.You will have about 4 hours for your visit in the Citadel when you will be able to enjoy this magnificent place before the crowds arrive later in the morning. Our professional guide will slowly show you around the main areas recounting myths and legends passed down over the centuries and explaining about some of the advanced building techniques the Incas used. After the tour will be time to head back down to the town by bus. Here you can find many restaurants offering lunch and afterwards you will board the return train through the Sacred Valley to Poroy town with a transfer back to Cusco arriving at approximately 8.30pm.
